Hughes Emphasises Quality at SECURA

SECURA - Stand H1 D3 – Brussels Exhibition Centre
Europe’s largest manufacturer of emergency safety showers and eyebath/facewash fountains, Hughes Safety Showers, will be featuring its latest products at SECURA, the security and risk management exhibition to be held in Brussels 28 to 30 March 2007.
Working closely with its distributors, Gelis in the Netherlands and Belgium and Carbone+ in Belgium and France, Hughes has established a strong market presence by offering a wide choice of safety solutions.
The company’s emergency safety showers are used throughout industry and include models designed to operate indoors and outside. To protect against frost and freezing temperatures outdoor units are insulated and fitted with heaters. Showers can be fed directly from the mains water supply but where pressure is inadequate or there is a risk of supply failure, showers are available with their own storage tank that can include a heater for cold climates and cooling systems for use in high ambient temperatures.
Eyebaths are available as stand alone units or can be supplied with emergency showers as a combined unit.
Quality is critical when dealing with life-saving, safety equipment. The ANSI standard Z358.1-2004 is recognised world-wide and is a widely accepted benchmark for performance. Emergency safety showers should deliver a minimum of 75 litres a minute from a water pressure of 2.1 Bar and eye/facewash fountains 11.5 litres a minute. As an industry leader, Hughes is closely involved in promoting safety at work and has contributed to the new European Standard for Emergency Showers and Eyebaths. The company has also gained DVGW certification for a range of its products in Germany.
‘A first-class distributor network is essential,’ says Hughes export sales manager Paul Darlington. ’Gelis and Carbone+ are both specialist suppliers of safety equipment and therefore make ideal partners. They share our commitment to quality products and customer service and therefore play a vital role in helping end users make the right choices.’
