On target for increased sales
Hughes North America Inc. has reported an impressive 100% increase in sales over the past 12 months. With the prospect of continued strong growth in the year ahead, attention at the Company’s annual strategy meeting focused on how to meet the needs of the business as it continues to expand.
Larger warehousing, assembly and distribution facilities are essential as sales increase. Provision for expanding the infrastructure has been made in a three-year development plan agreed at the recent strategy meeting. Another key component of the plan involves extending customer support to cover the main industrial centres of North America. This is already well under way with the recent appointment of two new distributors. Chicago based Heartland Controls will strengthen sales and distribution in the Mid West, particularly in Illinois and Michigan while Belilove Company Engineers of California will distribute Hughes products throughout the state and in neighbouring Nevada.
The two new distributors join Hatfield and Company serving Texas and Petro-Chem Equipment Company who cover Louisiana and Mississippi.

‘The North American market is enormously important to us’, says Hughes Group MD Tony Hughes. ‘It’s a joint venture with Canadian company Sarnia Piping Specialities (SPS) who also distribute Hughes products from their offices in Calgary, Quebec and Toronto. The extended distributor network and the appointment of Business Development Manager Dan Gray working out of our Houston Office demonstrates our commitment to the market and determination to build the necessary infrastructure to support the business in the future.”
