New enclosed emergency showers to beat the cold
13-02-2007
Hughes North America Inc has delivered a series of emergency safety showers specially developed for use in cold climates.
The 1200 litre tank showers with integral eyebath/facewash units have been supplied with ‘winterised booths’ to protect casualties while they are showering and afterwards provide safe refuge from the elements until help arrives. Double-skinned insulated doors help to maintain a comfortable temperature within the unit. The units are fitted with integral tank heater so that the shower can deliver sufficient warm water for the ANSI recommended period of 15 minutes even if the mains supply fails.

The mains water is mixed with heated water from a thermostatically controlled cylinder to give the correct temperature at the showerhead.

Hughes North America Inc, based in Sarnia, Ontario supplies a wide range of emergency safety showers and eyebath/facewash equipment for use in the event of industrial accidents such as chemical spills to provide vital first aid.

The company is part of Hughes Safety Showers, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of emergency safety showers, eyebaths and decontamination equipment. From sales offices in Europe and the Middle East, it sells to customers in more than 65 countries and has been at the forefront of technical developments nearly 40 years.
