Food Hygiene Safety Equipment
Hughes supply a wide range of Emergency Safety Showers and Eye wash equipment with models designed to meet the specific needs of activities ranging from raw materials handling, production and processing to laboratories, warehousing and distribution. Equipment design takes into account the working environment and the potential hazard in the different locations.
Showers range from free standing models suitable for indoor use to heated Tank Showers of various capacities. Tank Showers are used where the mains supply is unavailable and the larger models have sufficient stored water for the minimum 15 minutes showering recommended by the internationally accepted ANSI Z 358.1 2014 standard.
In the food industry, hygiene is particularly important. The Hughes range of stainless steel showers and eyewash units offers an ideal solution. The addition of protective coatings on the stainless steel has proved to be very successful at eliminating corrosion on, pipework, operating handles and linkages.
For eye wash bowls, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) are widely used to eliminate the risk of corrosion, but still ensure a sturdy and durable product.
In areas where stainless steel is not a requirement, a lower cost alternative is galvanised steel. Where this is used, on Hughes showers, galvanising is always carried out after any fabrication to avoid the risk of damage to the coating which could leave it susceptible to corrosion.
Hughes Emergency Safety Showers are designed and built to comply with the requirements of the ANSI Z 358.1 2014 standard to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
